Understanding Percentage to CGPA (Simple)

CGPA is a grade point average on a 10-point scale. Some boards allow you to convert a percentage to CGPA using a rule.

Common rules:

  • CBSE: CGPA = Percentage ÷ 9.5
  • General: CGPA = Percentage ÷ 10
  • Many universities: CGPA = Percentage ÷ 10 + 0.75

For other rules like Percentage = a × CGPA + b, this tool uses CGPA = (Percentage − b) ÷ a.
